Easy Protein Iced Coffee Recipe

Making a protein iced latte or protein iced coffee is really the simplest recipe on earth. The recipe isn’t as important as just the idea on making a protein coffee as well as tips to make sure it tastes right.

Protein Iced Latte Recipe

I wanted a healthy alternative to a mocha iced latte and this is it! I recently got an espresso machine and when I started making my own mochas I noticed just how much chocolate syrup was needed to make a mocha!

Here I was getting my own espresso machine to avoid additional ingredients and sugars you would find in cans or at coffee shops. However, I then would be adding what seemed like 1/4 a cup of chocolate syrup to make it taste like good iced mocha.

And from here… the idea popped into my head. Why don’t I use chocolate protein powder as a healthy alternative replacement to chocolate syrup and bang, amazing.

I had no idea protein powder would work so well as a replacement and I don’t notice the difference at all. It even gives it a bit more of a smooth frothy texture as well.

Which Protein powder is best?

You can even make this your own depending your tastes and use vanilla protein powder, espresso powder, unflavored, caramel, mint chocolate, peanut butter or whatever you heart desires that mixes well with coffee!

You can of course use whey protein, vegan protein and even experiment if you wish with things like casein, egg or mixed plant proteins. Whey I think is best if you are going for taste as others might leave it a little chalky tasting. Furthermore Whey has probably the most flavors as well.

Protein Coffee Ingredients

You only need a few ingredients to make a protein iced latte or coffee… coffee or espresso, water or favorite milk, ice and your favorite protein powder.

Make An Iced Coffee Protein Shake

This is my favorite shake on earth and I took the idea from this amazing restaurant in Phoenix called D’Lite where they have the Breakfast Buzz.

It is this amazing fusion of chocolate, peanut butter and banana. I don’t even really like bananas or peanut butter a ton but this mix is one of the best things ever.

Which Milk To Use For A Protein Iced Latte

You can use whatever milk you wish, I like to use almond milk but oat milk, soy milk and dairy milk would work great too.

How to make protein coffee

This is so simple, you literally just pour your coffee or milk & espresso over ice, add in protein powder and shake it up in a cocktail shaker for 5-10 seconds!
